IDA has achieved the following progress in its work on bonded labor in 15 districts of Punjab since 1986:
.Anjum has Liberated 75,000 bonded kiln workers, including men, women and children, through the Legal Aid Cells (LACs) of IDA.
.Liberated over 28,000 bonded brick kiln children (including an equal number of boys and girls), enrolled them in government and private schools near brick kilns, and provided them uniforms and bags.
.Formed network of more than 200 NGOs called “Freedom Network Against Bonded Labor (FNABL) which carried out a range of activities in their respective districts and sub-districts.
.Conducted 35 baseline surveys on different sectors, including bonded labor and used the data for planning, monitoring and evaluation of projects.
.Conducted 4000 rallies, 376 seminars, 500 FM radio programming posters, 350 training workshops, 45 street plays, networking with 200 NGOs, and activation of 15 DVCs to change mindsets and build self-confidence of stakeholders related to bonded labor.
.Established DVCs in 15 districts of Punjab consisting of 18-20 members, including district officials of the departments of Labor, Social Welfare, Employees Old Age Benefit, police, law, and civil society (President Bar Association, President Press Club, elected representative, NGOs, lawyers) headed by the District Coordination Officer Eight of these DVCs are active, some more than others.
.Formed 85 labor unions (including 40 headed by women) of different sectors, including unions of kiln workers at the cluster, sub-district and district levels, and unions of non-formal education teachers, women factory workers, women peasant activists, shoe makers, those working on roads, etc.
.Facilitated and technically supported 54,000 bonded brick kiln labor, including men and women, to obtain national ID cards and voter registration.
.Established Freedom Primary School Network (FPSN) to enroll 500 children working on brick kilns with low access to government or private schools in 15 Freedom Primary Schools.
.Trained 2500 women in embroidery and stitching at the IDA Skill Development Center.
.Trained 1500 working women from formal and informal sectors about their rights and labor laws.
.Provided 250 women employers awareness about their rights, leadership skills, Sexual Harassment Act and implementation of friendly HR policies.
.Facilitated over 2000 kiln workers to obtain social security and old age benefit cards.
.Provided health facility to 5000 kiln workers through medical camps at different kilns.
.Conducted one-week vocational skills training for 2500 female bonded workers.
.Conducted over 150 rights-based capacity building training workshops for members of Freedom Network organizations and other rights-based organizations.
.Increased in wages from 300 to 700 /thousand bricks.
.In addition, IDA also have won 3 international and national awards such as:
-Stop Slavery Hero Award (United Kingdom).
-International Bremen Peace Award (Germany).
-Women Peace Power Foundation Award (USA).
-President Medal, Muhtarma Fatima Jinnah (Pakistan).

As a result of Thirty years of Struggle for bonded labor community in Pakistan IDA have won Stop Slavery Hero Award 2020 from Thomson Reuter’s Foundation (United kingdom).

Bremen Peace Award- Germany 2013
We are happy to share the news that Insan Dost Association (IDA) has been selected for an international award called the International Bremen Peace Award in the Category of Exemplary organization for 2013 by the Stiftung die schwelle.
Every two years the schwelle Foundation selects nominees for the Bremen Peace Award – “crossing thresholds – breaking vicious circles”. With this award foundation honor people and organizations that lead with a good example in their work for Peace, Justice and the Integrity of Creation.
People and organizations involved in peace promotion worldwide nominate individuals and projects for the award. Out of these, the Jury of the schwelle Foundation selects award winners of the following three categories:
Unknown Peace Worker
Exemplary Organisation
Public Engagement
With this award foundation make visible encouraging examples of convincing peace work that have yet remained unknown to the broader public.
In April 2013, The board of the Foundation in Bremen, Germany choose IDA as one of the three award winners of the Bremen Peace Award 2013 in the category Exemplary organisation. The other two award winners are Ms Natalia Sarapuro from Argentina and Ms and Mr von Bernstorff from Germany.
It is first time that a Pakistani organization has been granted this award.
IDA was proposed by the Örestad Lokala Samorganisation, Malmo, Sweden. The Peace Prize will be awarded on November 29, 2013 in the Town Hall in Bremen.

Women of Peace Award-USA 2010
The women’s Pease Power Foundation, Inc. gives women of Peace Awards to women and girls involved in grassroots projects working to bring peace to the everyday lives of women and their families. This award is given to those extraordinary women around the world who work without funding or recognition for the universal goal of peace, fairness and true justice within the lives of women and their families. Ms. Shazia Paveen was working selflessly to end violence and bring peace in the lives of the victimized community. Shazia has formed 42 well-structured Unions of women workers. The union members have formed a shared funding mechanism to resolve health, financial and social problems of the women workers. The women feel socially and financially empowered and are engaging in welfare and relief activities contributing in reducing the plight of the women brick kiln workers. Keeping in view her contribution to bring change in lives of bonded labour women, Shazia was nominated for this award by IDA. Fortunately, she was one of the women’s who were granted this award.
President Medal, Muhtarma Fatima Jinnah-Pakistan 2009
President Medal, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah Award is given to outstanding women in recognition of their contribution in vocational and professional fields. IDA nominated Ms. Josephin Satar for this award and keeping in view her services for the community of bonded labourers, she was awarded this Medal by Government of Pakistan.
